Owl at sunset

I have just got back from a fabulous weekend away at a crafty weekend in Shropshire (well, I got back yesterday but spent most of the day catching up on sleep!) I had a great time and made lots and lots of cards and other things which I am looking forward to posting over the next few weeks. I also managed to bring back 20 kilos of craft stuff in my suitcase so I now have lots more goodies to play with including my big shot - woohoo! So excited to get playing again!

Anyway, here is one of my creations made with a Lavinia stamp which I ordered with some money for my birthday when I finally decided what to spend it on. I made a circular mask from a scrap piece of card and used tattered rose, dried marigold and seedless preserve distress inks to create the sky then stamped over with the owl. I have no idea of the name of the leafy die I used as I borrowed it from Amy (who arranged the crafty weekend) but I'm definitely adding it to my wishlist (along with several other things after playing this weekend!). The purple background was made with a plain piece of card and some cosmic shimmer mist and again die cut to shape. The whole thing was mounted on a black card.

It wasn't intentionally supposed to look like a Halloween card but I think the colours make it look a bit that way.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Lavinia Stamps - Autumn Colours
Bearly Mine - Orange, purple and black
Crafty Sentiments - Anything goes
Totally Gorjuss - Spooky
Crafty Hands - Anything Goes
Stampin for the weekend - Something spooky
Delightful Sketches - Winged things
